Negash Coffee Family
Negash Coffee Ltd. is a family owned and operated local coffee roastery, located in Niverville Manitoba. We bring our roots and passion of coffee from Ethiopia to North America, specializing in organic Ethiopian coffee beans. Using our knowledge to accommodate customers on multiple categories such as taste (strong, smooth), amount of caffeine (energy, alertness), as well as the right type of coffee bean and roast for each individual’s body.
Our goal is to grow and provide access to luxurious Ethiopian coffee beans and bring the true meaning and culture of Ethiopian Coffee to all the coffee lovers here in Canada. We supply coffee to all commercial and residential residents. Our beans consist of multiple varieties, as we provide beans from different regions of Ethiopia, different roasts, and customizable mixtures.
The History
Coffee production in Ethiopia is a longstanding tradition which dates back to dozens of centuries. Ethiopia is where Coffea arabica, the coffee plant, originates. According to legend, the 9th-century goatherder Kaldi discovered the coffee plant after noticing the energizing effect the plant had on his flock, but the story did not appear in writing until 1671. The plant is now grown in various parts of the world; Ethiopia itself accounts for around 3% of the global coffee market. The way of production has not changed much, with nearly all work, cultivating and drying, still done by hand
